Project: SESAME and Layered Nanostructures

I worked in the LENS project on the implementation of Spin Echo Scattering Angle MEasurement (SESAME) tool specifically to a Reflectometer-cum-SANS set-up. This served also as a platform for testing novel neutron Spin-Echo methods by which spatial correlations and dynamics of different length scales of nanostructures can be probed. I did optimization study of a polarizer bender, collaborating with Hahn-Meitner Institut, Germany, and other neutron transport devices for the commissioning of SESAME beam line. In addition, I also collaborated with ORNL in field tracing simulations to tackle the issue of neutron depolarization in spin echo set-up.

My research interests in the past extended to magnetism of layered nano-structures, their structural and interface characterization, bulk, layer and element specific magnetic properties, magneto-transport properties etc. The investigations were of fundamental interest in the research related to the materials in spintronics and neutronics.
