Visiting LENS

LENS is part of the Center for Exploration of Energy and Matter (CEEM), a multidisciplinary laboratory performing research and development in the areas of accelerator physics, nuclear physics, and materials and life science. LENS is located at the Indiana University Integrated Science and Accelerator Technology Hall (formerly Indiana University Cyclotron Facility) at 2401 Milo B Sampson Lane. Community outreach is tantamount to LENS and thousands of visitors have enjoyed our warm welcome and generous hospitality. This page is offered in hopes of making your visit to LENS pleasant and productive.

Visitors are encouraged to request assistance and advice regarding arrangements such as tours, lodging reservations, rental cars, etc. Please contact LENS by e-mail or by telephone at (812) 855-9365.

Access to LENS

ISAT Hall is open between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The facility is closed for all major holidays. Authorized visitors may access the facility at any time.

Casual visitors who wish to attend educational events or contact employees at LENS should enter the building at the main entrance on Milo B. Sampson Lane and discuss their needs with the receptionist in the lobby. He or she will be happy to accommodate visitors in any possible way.

Recent re-evaluation of security requirements within the United States and within Indiana University have necessitated that visitors to LENS must comply with a few regulations before entering the research sections of the facility. Accelerators produce radiation and materials that have been exposed to this radiation may become activated. Compliance with our safety and security policies will make your visit both informative and safe.

The staff at LENS would be pleased to provide you with any required paperwork in advance of your visit. Please contact LENS by e-mail or by telephone at (812) 855-9365.
