November 14 - 18, 2022
Multidisciplinary Engineering & Sciences Hall
Project 8 is a direct neutrino mass experiment based on the tritium endpoint technique. The neutrino is a fundamental particle, and its unknown mass is significant across the fields of nuclear, particle, and astro-physics. The goal of Project 8 is to combine an atomic tritium source with the cyclotron radiation emission spectroscopy technique, in order to measure the mass of the neutrino.
