CEEM graduate students Chris Haddock and Nathan Callahan awarded DOE Science Graduate Student Research Program fellowships

CEEM graduate students Chris Haddock and Nathan Callahan have been awarded fellowships from the new Department of Energy Office of Science Graduate Student Research (SCGSR) Program. The SCGSR program provides supplemental awards to outstanding U.S. graduate students to pursue part of their graduate thesis research at a DOE laboratory in areas that address scientific challenges central to the Office of Science mission.
Chris Haddock is a fourth year doctoral student and Research Assistant under Dr Michael Snow, and working on a PhD thesis involving precision neutron spin rotation measurements. Chris's fellowship will allow him to continue his research at Los Alamos National Lab, NM, for the next twelve months.
Nathan Callahan is also a fourth year doctoral student, advisor Dr Chen-Yu Liu, and currently working on an experiment to measure the neutron lifetime in a magneto-gravitational trap at Los Alamos National Lab, NM. The DOE fellowship will enable Nathan to do additional research at Oak Ridge National Lab, TN, for six months, starting in early 2016.
