Welcome to the Center for Exploration of Energy and Matter at Indiana University.

May 25, 2019 -  Dr Chen-Yu Liu featured on NPR with Joe Palca discussing her work on the neutron electric dipole moment, and why we (and corned beef sandwiches) exist.

May 9 - 11, 2019 -  CEEM hosts a COHERENT Collaboration Meeting/Workshop. The COHERENT experiment is currently running at the Oak Ridge National Lab Spallation Neutron Source, and Dr Rex Tayloe leads the effort on this experiment at CEEM. Approximately 40 physicists from universities and national labs in the US and Canada attended the meeting. In addition to presentations from collaboration members, CEEM faculty member Dr Charles Horowitz and IU alumnus Dr Teppei Katori (PhD, 2008) presented talks on their work in related fields.

May 3, 2019 -  CEEM undergraduate student Maria del Valle Coello (advisor Dr Rex Tayloe) named Goldwater Scholar for the 2019-20 academic year.

December 19, 2018 -  Dr. W. Michael Snow co-leads first observation of the weak interaction between protons and neutrons inside an atom, published in Physical Review Letters [Full article]
