Saturday, July 20th
On Saturday, July 20th, we will be offering all students the opportunity to participate in a day at Lake Monroe’s Paynetown State Rec Area (4850 South State Road 446, Bloomington, IN 47401).
Non-local students: A school bus will be waiting at Spruce Hall to pick up any students interested in attending, and it will leave at 10:00am sharp. We will arrive at the lake around 10:30am, and the bus will take you back to Spruce Hall at 5:00pm (arriving 5:30pm).
Local students: Keep in mind, each vehicle entering the park must pay a $7 entrance fee, so think about carpooling with your fellow students! Bring any lawn games you want! Please meet us at 10:30am at Paynetown if you want to participate in the entire day.
We have reserved a shelter house with two grills for cooking lunch (will have vegan/vegetarian options) and we have rented 7 kayaks and 7 canoes from 12pm – 4pm for some lake adventures! Two people can fit in a canoe/kayak, so we will need to take turns, and life jackets are provided. At the state park, there is also a sandy beach and a Nature Activity Center to check out. The weather forecast looks lovely - bring sunscreen, swim suits and towels!
